As Managing Principal, Isabel runs day-to-day operations for Canete Medina. Isabel has over 20 years of experience in urban and transportation planning. Her forte is in using technology to develop innovative methods and solutions to solve client’s problems. Isabel’s expertise in technology applications includes the use of geographic information systems, computer-aided design, 3D modeling, visualization, animation and database development.
Isabel has an M.Des.S. from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, a M.U.R.P. from the University of Miami School of Architecture and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines. She has authored papers on CAD, GIS and urban and transportation planning.
Before founding her own company, Isabel worked as a planner for several consulting firms including Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc., Barton-Aschman & Associates, LS Gallegos & Associates, and Joseph Middlebrooks & Associates.
As Principal of the firm, Benjamin Medina spearheads all private sector consulting projects at Canete Medina. Ben is known for his acumen in assessing client business needs and analysing supply chain operations across multiple industries. He has over 20 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, operations analysis, financial analysis, process modeling and decision support.
Ben has a M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from Northwestern University and a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines. Among his published papers, Ben’s work has appeared in the Annals of Operations Research and Global Logistics and Distribution Planning.
Previous to launching his own consultancy firm, Ben held management positions with United Airlines and Sears Roebuck & Co. He has also taught statistics and data analysis to graduate and undergraduate students at DePaul University and recently served as a panel Member with the National Cooperative Freight Research Program for the NCFRP Project: Public Sector Sustainability Strategies Addressing Supply Chain Air Emissions.
Grace Zabat excels at managing cross-functional projects and serves as project manager and chief analyst in her interactions with Canete Medina clients from both the private and public sectors. As Senior Project Manager, her management skills transfer across strategic and operational initiatives.
She has twenty years of experience in the areas of transportation, manpower planning, cost analysis, data analysis, supply chain and network modeling.
Grace holds a Master’s degree in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines. Grace has worked for Fortune 500 companies including United Airlines, Cardinal Health and Baxter Healthcare.
Max is the Business Manager of Canete Medina and in charge of accounting, purchasing, record keeping and other administrative tasks. Max also serves as project administrator for all Canete Medina projects, a role he has held for 12 years. He tracks project costs and manages client invoicing and other tasks required for contract compliance. On market research projects Max supervises field surveying and ensures the accurate coding, processing and data entry of surveys.
Max has a B.S. in Commerce (Business Administration) from the College of the Immaculate Concepcion, Philippines.
Previous to moving to Chicago, Max was a manager at the Land Bank of the Philippines.
As Project Manager, Rebeca Alvarado is in charge of computer-aided design projects for Canete Medina. She is also responsible for coordinating proposal development and participates in business development tasks.
Before coming to Canete Medina, Rebeca provided CAD services as a consultant in architecture in South Florida as well as Austin, Texas. She spent 20 years managing major projects for commercial and residential architectural firms.
Rebeca has a B.A. in Urban Planning from the University of Utah and did graduate studies in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Miami.
As Human Resource Manager for Canete Medina Consulting Group Inc., Jennie implements all recruiting and hiring processes, oversees training, and develops employment policies and procedures.
Before coming to Canete Medina, Jennie was a real estate broker with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. She also has a deep knowledge of the social service sector stemming from her experience as a clinical coordinator for an early childhood intervention program, a case manager for abused and neglected children and a practicing family therapist.
Jennie holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University. She is licensed as a professional counselor.
